HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -  Jackie Reed has run for more than a dozen local government positions without success – but she is not letting that slow her down.

In her career, which has spanned more than two decades, Reed hasn’t held a seat once, but she’s been to almost every city council meeting. She estimates she’s only missed about 10 meetings in 25 years.

She has run for mayor seven times, state legislature once, and her upcoming attempt to become District 4 City Council member will be her sixth time on the ballot for that office.

“I’ve seen many – about three or four mayors, many council people come and go,” said Reed. “I’m still running because I think our priorities are out of order in government.”

Reed will take on incumbent Bill Kling for the District 4 seat in the August 26 election.
