PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Six people, including four teenagers, were arrested after a fight and shooting at a house party led investigators to a home where drugs and weapons were found, according to officials.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following suspects were arrested Monday:

Mark Gonzalez, 44, of Prairieville

Rebecca Gonzalez, 43, of Prairieville

Austin Rashall, 18, of Prairieville

Aronis Gonzalez, 18, of Gonzales

14-year-old boy

16-year-old boy

Deputies said the fight and shooting happened at a home on Daigle Road in Prairieville on Friday. Chief Deputy Tony Bacala with APSO said a young woman decided to host a party while her parents were out of town. He added it was intended to be a small gathering of just a few friends, but a social media post resulted in about 60 people showing up. He also said most of the people there didn’t even know the person throwing the party.

According to Bacala, several small fights broke out at some point. It is believed the host tried to make people leave and at that time, some of the partiers reportedly saw someone with a gun, which caused people to scatter. Bacala said there was then a separate disagreement between one group leaving the party and another that was staying. He explained a truck started to back up, but then went forward where some people were standing, forcing them to dive out of the way to avoid getting run over.

Bacala stated shots were then fired from inside the truck. He said one man was hit in the ankle and the rest of the bullets hit a fence. The victim was taken to the hospital, treated for the injuries and released. His name was not given. Reports indicate Aronis Gonzales was driving the truck. Investigators believe he, Rashall and the 16-year-old boy fired the shots from the truck.

Detectives said the investigation led them to a home in Prairieville. They reported finding several weapons, a large amount of marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia and Schedule II narcotics. They did not specify what those narcotics were. They added the six arrests were the result of the search warrant for the home.

Mark and Rebecca Gonzalez were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on the following charges:

Possession of marijuana

Prohibited acts

Possession of Schedule II CDS

Possession of Schedule IV CDS

Illegal carrying of weapons

Illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of person under 17 years of age

Aronis Gonzalez faces the following charges:

Aggravated battery

Rashall is charged with:

Aggravated assault with a firearm (11 counts)

Illegal carrying of weapons

Aggravated battery

Distribution/possession with intent to distribute marijuana

Illegal carrying of weapons during commission of a crime in presence of person under 17 years of age

Prohibited acts

The two other teens were booked into the Assumption Youth Detention Center. The 16-year-old faces charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated battery, illegal use of weapons and illegal carrying. The 14-year old is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, illegal carrying of a weapon, accessory after the fact to aggravated assault and accessory after the fact to illegal use of weapons.

Bacala added the investigation continues and more arrests are pending.
