HARTSELLE, AL (WAFF) -

Emergency responders were called to the scene of a wreck in the Hartselle area late Tuesday night.

It happened just before 8 p.m. on Highway 31 between Decatur and Hartselle near Bowles Bridge Road.

Authorities said the driver of the vehicle went into the median and overcorrected before running off the road. The car split a power pole, causing the top half to dangle by the wires. The vehicle flipped and landed upside-down in a ditch.

The driver was airlifted from the scene and taken to Huntsville Hospital. Her condition is unknown.

Decatur police and fire units, State Troopers and utility crews repaired damage, and power is now back to normal.
