Somerville woman faces drug charge after K-9 detects meth

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

A Somerville woman was arrested on charges of drug possession during a traffic stop in Decatur.

It happened Tuesday afternoon during a stop for a moving violation near the 6th Avenue Kangaroo Express station.

A canine officer detected the presence of methamphetamine in the driver's possession.

Teresa Joyce Dotson was issued a citation for the violation and the Organized Crime Unit was contacted. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Dotson will be taken to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
