FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

A capital murder suspect revisited the crime scene Tuesday as his attorneys prepare for trial.

Raymond Clemmons is charged in the 2012 shooting death of his cousin, Jerry Ivy.

Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly said his attorneys have the right to revisit the crime scene with their client. Clemmons remained guarded by deputies at all times and met his counsel at the scene.

Ivy was shot inside his truck on Connor Street in Florence. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an ongoing altercation between the cousins.

A grand jury later indicted Clemmons on capital murder charges. He has since pleaded not guilty.

His trial is set to begin Monday, Sept. 15.
