HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - There are several places we could start with Chickamauga Trail in Huntsville. We'll start with the road itself. One person posted on See, Click, Fix that it needs to be repaved from Hobbs Road to Farmingdale Road. He even posted a picture on the site.
It feels like a roller coaster ride is the way he put it. The problem is Chickamauga is another one of those older roads in Huntsville that we have featured. Many of them could use a repave. There are several patches where road crews have fixed some of the cracks and holes that have formed in the past. The city of Huntsville has already forwarded this to Public Works so crews can go out again and patch where they can and smooth out more of the rough spots.
There are two other issues on the same street. One has to do with the water, dirt and mud that collects at the side of the street and up onto the curb and not just in one spot. There are several spots where the mud's collected. Public works is set to check that out.
And they've already jumped on the third issue. There's a sidewalk section that was missing on the east side of Chickamauga in the 12300 block. Workers put in new cement in the past two weeks.
We'll keep checking back on the possibility of repaving and let you know what we find.
