DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The teen accused of shooting and killing 38-year-old Kelena Annette Hicks earlier this week was in court on Friday.
District Judge Steve Whitmire heard from the district attorney about the events leading up to Hicks' death.
The juvenile, who has not been identified, was appointed an attorney. He is officially charged with murder.
The judge found probable cause to continue to keep the teen detained.
A motion was filed for an order to certify the juvenile as an adult for the trial. Juvenile Probation will prepare a report for the court to use in helping make the determinations. A hearing date has not been set.
