MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A Marshall County deputy fired for using excessive force on a handcuffed prisoner lost his appeal Thursday.
A copy of the Marshall County Personnel board's decision (PDF) shows that by a 3-1 vote, the board voted to uphold the sheriff's decision to fire deputy Steven Alexander.
The board made their decision after hearing six hours of testimony over an April 22 incident where a man being transported to a mental health facility was roughed up while handcuffed after trying to get away from authorities.
