Couple accused of writing $14K in checks stolen from relative

KILLEN, AL (WAFF) -

A Killen couple is accused of writing nearly $14,000 in stolen checks.

A Lauderdale County grand jury indicted Julianne and James Hendon on a list of charges including theft of property and emotional abuse of an elderly person. In addition, Julianne Hendon is charged with 69 counts of forgery.

Authorities said the couple stole the checks from Julianne's grandmother.

Alabama Bureau of Investigation agents and State Troopers arrested the couple Thursday afternoon.
