ATHENS, Ala. (AP) - A Limestone County judge has set court dates for an Athens man accused of buying kittens on Craigslist and then killing them.

Circuit Judge James Woodroof has scheduled arraignment for 49-year-old Ronald Fraser Golden on July 29 and his trial on Sept. 15.

A Limestone County grand jury indicted Golden in May on 22 counts of animal cruelty. The Athens police chief says Golden was arrested in October after police got calls about dead kittens being found near his home. The chief says Golden told officers that he was angry at the world and he stomped or strangled the kittens.

Court records don't list an attorney or phone number for Golden. His mother, Virginia Golden, declined comment Wednesday.
