Spice, children discovered at Decatur man's apartment

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

A Decatur man was arrested by police A Decatur man was arrested by police after they discovered synthetic marijuana in his home, along with several small children.

Investigators with the police department's Organized Crime Unit received complaints about the synthetic drug, also known as Spice, being sold at an apartment on the 1600 block of Beech Street.

Police obtained a search warrant and went to the apartment. There they found 35-year-old Lamar Stevenson and several small children. During the search, investigators found a large quantity of the drug as well as some cash.

Stevenson was arrested for trafficking controlled substance analogs. He was out on bond at the time for felony charges stemming from a previous drug search warrant issued two months prior.

A judge set Stevenson's bond at $10,000, which investigators are seeking to have revoked.
