HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

‘ATM' may traditionally stand for Automated Teller Machine, but it could also stand for A Terrifying Moment.

That's what one man experienced recently when he was robbed at an ATM.

It happened at the BBVA Compass ATM on Jordan Lane June 7. Security footage shows a man making a cash withdrawal when he gets a surprise visit.

A man in a white T-shirt appears, holding a semi-automatic gun in his right hand. The victim said he was told to "set it down" – presumably in reference to the money he had just withdrawn.

The victim handed over the money, and a female driving a blue car pulled up quickly. The robber got in the car, and they drove off.

What you don't see in the footage, however, is that the victim started following the crook. The robber again brandished his gun, and the victim did the right thing. He pulled over and called police.

The distance of the suspect from the camera means we don't get the clearest view of the man. The blue car may help you – perhaps the robber has done some talking.

Either way, you could make a nice deposit into your own bank account. There's up to $1,000 in reward money if you can help police identify the suspect.
