ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

Authorities arrested a man on drug charges after a burglary investigation turned into a meth bust Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they located a field with four meth labs off of 10th Avenue in Athens on June 18. Authorities said James Lynn Johnson was developed as a suspect following a burglary at Anker's Food Mart on June 17.

Police arrested Johnson on four warrants of first-degree manufacture of a controlled substance. Johnson was already in the Limestone County Jail on a burglary charge in connection with the Anker's Food Mart burglary at the time the warrants were served.

Johnson was booked into the Athens Police Department and later transferred back to the Limestone County Jail.
