LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Three people who officials said quit attending a court-mandated drug program found themselves back in custody over the weekend.

U.S. Marshals arrested Michael Paul Emerson, Rhonda Gail Garner and Christopher Ray Clingan. All three had previously entered guilty pleas to previous drug-related charges in 2013.

Officials with the county courthouse said the three were placed in the court-mandated program but had quit attending more than a week ago.

Marshals stopped the trio following a brief car chase Saturday near Lauderdale 87. Clingan and Garner were arrested, while Emerson attempted to flee on foot. He was located Sunday at a relative's house.

Assisting the U.S. Marshals in their investigation were the Alabama Department of Conservation, Florence police detectives and canine units, and the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office.
