HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The funeral service for Huntsville murder victim Ashia Oliver will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 30.

The service will be held at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Oliver, 18, was shot and killed early Wednesday morning at Sunoco gas station on Pulaski Pike. Officers pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police said the shooting was a result of a fight between several girls that had been going on for a few days. Around 100 people had been following the girls. Police said Ashia was not involved with the fight that led to the shooting.

Community leaders said they are frustrated at the violence in North Huntsville and an anti-bullying "Stop the Violence Summer Fest" has been planned at the Richard Showers Center for Saturday, June 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

An account has also been set up to help Ashia's family with funeral expenses. The account is at Redstone Federal Credit Union. Just tell the teller you would like to give to the fund.

Another cold morning out there today, but this is the last of that! Temperatures this morning are into the mid to upper teens and low 20s, but the wind chill is pretty much nonexistent because we have a light wind from the south at 2 mph.
