LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Shoals woman, who police said left her sister-in-law on the floor for weeks before she died, will be in a Lauderdale County courtroom Friday morning.

According to investigators, 57-year-old Pamela Springer laid on the floor for three to four weeks before her sister-in-law finally called for help.

Author ties arrested Maria Springer and charged her with elder abuse and neglect.

Investigators said she told them she tried to put her sister-in-law on the couch, but that she fell. Because she laid on the floor for so long, the Lauderdale County District Attorney said there were sores all over her body.

The court hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday.

WAFF 48 News will have a crew in the courtroom and let you know what happens.
