3 men charged with trafficking black tar heroin near school

Three men are facing drug charges after investigators seized heroin, cash and vehicles from three Richmond County locations Wednesday. 

Narcotics investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office and agents with the DEA executed three drug-related search warrants - one at 26 Thornberry Dr., one at 3893 Murray Street and one at a storage unit. 

They seized 9.25 ounces of black tar heroin, more than $23,000 in cash and three vehicles.

Michael Vacaro Avery, 31, Jason Davis, 46, and Dexter Carmell Hunter, 21, are each charged with trafficking heroin and trafficking heroin within 1,000 feet of a school (Warren Road Elementary).  

Investigators say other arrests are pending.
