ARAB, AL (WAFF) -

Police arrested a meth suspect who was found passed out at a church in Arab.

Douglas Leroy Dixon, 23, of Joppa is in custody charged with manufacture of methamphetamine and illegal possession of prescription pills.

Police got a call around 8 a.m. Thursday morning when a suspicious vehicle was next to the dumpster behind Old Brashiers Chapel Church.

Police found Dixon unresponsive in the vehicle and said they saw a meth lab inside the vehicle. They woke Dixon, searched the vehicle and found prescription pills. Dixon was then taken to the city jail.

Police said they aren't sure why Dixon pulled into a church parking lot with his meth lab.

"He told us that he had come back from the hospital earlier that night and couldn't recall how he wound up at the church," said Assistant Chief Shane Washburn. "He actually, when we were able to wake him up, was very confused and didn't know where he was."

Dixon will be transported to the Marshall County jail to make bond.
