HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The attorney for a Huntsville man accused of sexually abusing a boy was removed from the case following his petition to withdraw.

Carl Herold and his domestic partner, Charles Dunnavant, are scheduled to go to trial in August. They face more than 30 charges including sodomy and sexual abuse. Investigators said they held a child captive for more than eight months.

Attorney Steven Eversole filed a motion with the Madison County Circuit Court to withdraw as counsel to Carl Herold.

The judge approved the motion Thursday and appointed Larry Marsili as Herold's new attorney.
