Plane crash at Huntsville airport claims 3 lives

Good evening, everyone. Here's what we're working on in the WAFF 48 Newsroom.

We're continuing to dig deeper into today's deadly plane crash at Huntsville International. We've learned the small plane, a non-commercial flight, was registered in Birmingham. The plane veered off the runway and burst into flames, killing all three 3 people on board. We're still working to confirm their identities and what went wrong. Investigators with the NTSB and FAA are in Huntsville and have started their investigation. WAFF 48's Charles Molineaux has been on top of this story all day and he'll have the very latest details.

We're also continuing to investigate the shooting death of an 18-year old Huntsville woman at a gas station in North Huntsville overnight. Two other people were injured in the shooting. WAFF 48's Vincent Crivelli will talk to the uncle of the victim, 18-year old Ashia Oliver. We'll also hear from a woman who's working to gather support to stop the violence in that part of the city.

In case you missed it, one of the two victims in yesterday's tornado outbreak in Nebraska is from North Alabama. 5 year old Calista Dixon was killed and her mother remains in a medically-induced coma. We have a very touching interview from Calista's father, who still lives here in Madison.

And we also have some pretty good pictures of two very bad men, caught burglarizing a Huntsville restaurant after hours. It's your chance to solve a crime and cash in on your information.

We'll see you at 10.
