St. Tammany Police discover meth lab in north Covington

COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) -

St. Tammany Narcotics officers make an arrest after a meth lab is discovered inside of a Covington home. An anonymous tip led to discovery on Tuesday. The home is located in the 13,000 block of Riverlake Drive in the Lake Ramsey area of north Covington.

According to police, St. Tammany Narcotics officers found that the lab was recently used. They also found ingredients used to make methamphetamine, inside the home.

St. Tammany firefighters and EMS also responded to help police secure the scene. Police took 41-year-old Brett Chisesi into custody and charged him with operation and creation of a clandestine laboratory. He could receive additional charges as the investigation continues.

Chisesi's nine-year-old son, who was living at the home, was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
