AUBURN, AL (WAFF) -

Auburn's famed golden eagle, Tiger, War Eagle VI, died Wednesday at the age of 34. Tiger was believed to be among the oldest golden eagles in captivity.

In 2000, Tiger was the first eagle to fly free at Jordan-Hare Stadium. She flew at home football games for seven years and was retired in 2006.

Nova is War Eagle VII and flies along with Spirit, an American bald eagle, during pregame ceremonies at home football games.
