BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Etowah County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested a man in connection to assault against a juvenile.

34-year-old James Franklin Woods faces one count of second degree kidnapping, one count of third degree assault and one count of menacing. Woods is believed to have held a 16-year-old male at gunpoint to force him out of his girlfriend's car near the intersection of Pulltight Road and US Highway 411 on June 16.

The victim was taken to Woods residence on Pulltight Road in the Coates Bend community, where he was allegedly assaulted by the suspect. Investigators say Woods accused the victim of breaking into his home.

Woods is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $51,500 bond.
