The City of Montgomery and the Montgomery Zoo, along with the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce and the Wright Flyers, will be hosting the 20th annual Military Appreciation Day.

All military personnel active duty, retired military, and reserve/guard members and their dependants are invited to Military Appreciation Day.

This special day will include free admission to the Zoo and Mann Museum along with a free train ride. Military members will need to bring valid military identification to get the free admission.

A complimentary lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. and at noon Mayor Todd Strange and Major Steve Kwast, Vice Commander, Air University, will welcome the military personnel and their families.

For a small fee, military families will be able to enjoy activities such as the Giraffe Encounter Post, the Petting Zoo, the beautiful birds at Parakeet Cove and take a paddle boat ride around Crystal Lake.

The event will take place Thursday, June 19 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Montgomery Zoo.
