HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The attorney for a Huntsville man facing several sex abuse charges wants off the case.

Attorney Steven Eversole filed a motion with the Madison County Circuit Court to withdraw as counsel to Carl Herold.

Herold is accused of holding a child "effectively captive" for eight months for sexual purposes. Herold and his domestic partner, Charles Walker Dunnavant, face multiple sex charges.

A hearing date for the withdraw request is set for June 19.
