PRICEVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Court documents revealed more details about the death of a Priceville woman.

Don Evan Robinson III of Hartselle was arrested Sunday in connection with the death of Stacey Lauren Jones, 33.

An affidavit filed by Priceville police before they arrested Robinson said an autopsy shows Jones suffered blunt-force trauma to the head and was strangled. The autopsy shows Jones died from bleeding on the brain.

Investigators said Robinson, who they called Jones' on-again, off-again boyfriend, called 911 early Friday morning from a home on Meadow Lane. He told dispatchers he had discovered Jones' body on her bedroom floor.

In the court documents, Priceville police said they found blood spatter in several areas of the house, not just the bedroom. Police said in the affidavit that there was hair in the victim's hand, which indicated a possible struggle.

Police also said there was a history of domestic calls to the home, and that a witness told them they heard a loud fight going on the night before police found the body.

Investigators said Jones' hyoid bone in her throat was broken.

"It's going to take a certain amount of force to break that bone," said Assistant Police Chief Ron Deweese. "It's not something that can accidentally happen. It's going to take somebody manually strangling somebody, or a hanging-type incident; something for that strangulation to happen."

Don Robinson is charged with murder and domestic violence. His bond is set at $500,000.
