NWS confirms Tanner tornado on June 5

TANNER, AL (WAFF) -

The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado hit Limestone County almost two weeks ago.

Officials said the tornado hit the Tanner Community on June 5. According to the NWS, the tornado was a brief-spin up tornado. The NWS classified it as an EF1.

Officials said the tornado had maximum winds up to 90 mph and lasted for two minutes. The tornado had a path that stretched for .75 miles and was 100 yards wide.
