CACC announces its involvement in dual enrollment program

ALEXANDER CITY, AL (WSFA) -

Central Alabama Community College in Alexander City announced, on Monday, it's involvement in the dual enrollment program.

Students can start earning college credit through the program, while at the same time earning high school credit.

Students who meet the requirements won't have to pay for the classes, and it's all because of new legislation that allows businesses to donate funds for dual enrollment program.

Those businesses will receive tax credits for their contributions.

"It put me where I'm at," said Clay Taylor, a dual enrollment graduate. "I couldn't be here if it wasn't for the dual enrolment program. I wouldn't be able to do what I do and see what I have seen."

To enroll students must meet the following requirements:

Must be a sophomore, junior or senior in high school.

Must be at least 15 years old.

Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher or obtain special permission.

Must be on track to graduate from high school.
