HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Claire Griffin has had astronomical aspirations since early childhood, as evidenced by a drawing she made when she was in first grade.

"If I was famous I would be an astronaut and go to Mars. It has sandstorms."

Claire, now 10, is a student at Arab Elementary. She was chosen by her school to receive a sponsored trip to Space Camp in Huntsville, courtesy of a North Alabama State Farm agent.

Area agents started sponsoring space campers after the April 2011 tornado outbreak. They said it is one of the most rewarding things they are able to do.

Claire said she already knows what she wants to do when she grows up.

"A mission specialist," she said. "They're the scientists of the space mission."

Claire will be one of about 10 students sponsored this year.
