Trio arrested in Florence robbery, kidnapping

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

Florence police arrested three suspects in an overnight robbery and kidnapping.

Officers arrested 18-year-old Marcus Rice, 25-year-old Carlos Dominique Alan, and 22-year-old Darius Marquise Freeman on Monday morning.

Police say the three suspects held a man against his will early Monday morning. They said the man was taken hostage after an altercation in the Carver Homes area.

According to Florence police, the men were driving the victim to Nashville, Tennessee at gunpoint.

Officers were waiting when the trio arrived back in Florence with the victim still being held in the vehicle.

Police said the victim suffered minor injuries from the fight, but was unharmed during the kidnapping.

Officers also recovered several guns and other evidence after the arrests.

Rice, Alan, and Freeman were taken into custody without incident and charged with first degree robbery and first degree kidnapping.

They were booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.
