MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The trial for a Morgan County woman accused of killing her child is scheduled to start Monday.

A grand jury indicted Casey Travis for murder in the death of her 3-year-old son Jayden.

Court records said Jayden died in 2009 from ingesting a synthetic form of heroin, similar to methadone. Priceville investigators said Jayden took the pill hours before rescue crews were called.
