PRICEVILLE, AL (WAFF) - On Sunday morning, Priceville police, assisted by Morgan County deputies and Decatur police, arrested a man in connection with a murder.
Police said Don Evan Robinson III of Hartselle was arrested in connection with the death of Stacey Lauren Jones, 33, of Priceville.
Robinson was charged with domestic violence and murder after investigators developed him as a suspect in the death, which happened on Friday. Police responded early that morning to a home on the 100 block of Meadow Lane after the victim's on-again, off-again boyfriend called 911 and said he found the body.
Police had said there were no signs of forced entry.
"We sent the body in for an autopsy," said Jason Wilbanks of the Priceville Police Department. "Through the autopsy and forensics evidence, we determined this was going to be a homicide."
Neighbor Delilah Greenhaw said Robinson had been in trouble since his youth. Neighbors described Jones as a woman who would always wave if she passed you by, but who didn't really come out much.
"It makes me feel very bad, knowing that someone here is a murderer," Greenhaw said. "I am going to be very careful that I don't let anybody in my house unless I feel it's someone I can trust."
Robinson's bond has been set at $500,000. He remains in the Morgan County Jail.
