Worth County boys basketball head coach Arthur Davis will not be with the team during a busy summer following a minor stroke.
Assistant coach Patrick Marshall will be taking over his duties as the team tries to get better during the off-season.
"We just want to make sure that he's okay when the season starts," Marshall said. "The summertime is our time to get ready for the season. We are going to make sure he is healthy for that."
The summer will prove to be an important one for the team that placed second in the region and lost to the eventual state champion Jonesboro in the playoffs. On Friday, the team participated in a tournament hosted by Albany State. This is after playing in Lee County tournament last weekend. Next weekend, they head to Columbus for another team event.
The team returns four starters from last year's team.
