Decatur man's noise violation leads to drug arrest

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

A noise violation led to a Decatur man's arrest on drug charges.

Officers stopped a car belonging to Pierre Jamal Yarbrough Wednesday. The officer said the car's sound system was producing noise that could be heard in excess of 50 feet, in violation of city ordinances.

The officer stopped Yarbrough's car and ran his license, which was revoked. There was also no proof of insurance. During the investigation, officers located spice in the car.

It was also learned that Yarbrough was the subject of an investigation by drug agents. Investigators said Yarbrough sold marijuana on three separate occasions during the operation.

Yarbrough was arrested on charges of violating the sound ordinance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving while revoked, no proof of insurance, and three counts of distribution.

He was booked in the Decatur Jail and will be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of $19,000 bond.
