COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The Colbert County Democratic Party is meeting Thursday to discuss a mistake found after last week's primary.

Following a tie in the District 5 School Board race, officials determined at least 23 people voted on ballots they were not supposed to. Election officials said it was an honest mistake and that no other races were impacted.

The Democratic Party will now draft a formal request to ask the Secretary of State, Republican Jim Bennett, to put the race back on next month's ballot to let the people vote again.
