7 arrested in Morgan Co. on drug, criminal charges

MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Authorities arrested multiple people Wednesday evening on various drug and criminal charges after executing warrants in Morgan County.

Agents served warrants at a residence on the 1400 block of Gum Springs Road.

Christopher Sandlin, 36, Cynthia Long, 38, James Brown, 50, were arrested and charged with second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond for each was set at $600. James Brown was arrested and charged with loitering in a drug house. Bond was set at $300.

While executing a search warrant, agents said they found Donna Jackson, 47, hiding in a rear part of a vehicle driven by Jeane Melson, 40. Jackson was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Valium). Her bond was set at $2,500. Melson was charged with illegal possession of a prohibited liquor. Bond for Melson was set at $300.

Agents also executed warrants at a residence on the 1700 block of Hayes Street SW. Tanner Phillips, 20, was arrested for outstanding warrants for third-degree criminal trespassing. Authorities also arrested Phillips' mother, Alex Smith, 40. Smith was wanted for contempt of court arrest warrants and failure to pay child support.
