Suspects decontaminated in meth bust

HARTSELLE, AL (WAFF) -

Two suspects had to be decontaminated following a meth bust at Hartselle home.

Agents responded to the 500 block of Sloss Street Wednesday evening. Authorities found materials used to make meth and a large quantity of liquid and powder meth inside the residence.

Gerald Curtis Goodwin Jr., 33, and George Edward Freer, 28, were arrested. Both had to be decontaminated by the Harselle Fire Department due to chemical exposure.

Authorities charged the men with first-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of felony drug paraphernalia.

Goodwin and Freer were taken to the Morgan County Jail. Bond was set for $200,000 each.
