HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

They might call it "funny money," but there's nothing funny about it, especially if you're the business left holding the bill.

In this case, a crook served up a fake $50 at a local restaurant.

We have a very good look at the thief on surveillance video. It happened at the Little Libby's Restaurant on Lime Quarry Road in Madison April 19.

Instead of paying with currency, she paid with fake money: a counterfeit $50 bill. It was basically a blank sheet of paper, not worth the paper it was printed on.

The thief is seen wearing a reddish blouse, with dark jeans, a pony tail and glasses.

She's seen clearly on surveillance video paying with that bogus $50 bill.

You could earn some real cash, in the amount of $1,000 - for a tip that leads to an arrest.

You can phone in your anonymous tips to 256-53-CRIME (27463). Or to text or e-mail an anonymous tip, head to our Crime Stoppers page for details.
