HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Repairs are expected to begin soon on a condemned apartment building in Huntsville.

Crews feared part of the Continental Apartments might collapse after the roof was damaged by recent storms and water seeped inside.

Wednesday, a roofing company surveyed the damage on behalf of the property owner.

About one-third of the units were deemed unsafe by the city, and residents were forced out.

Attempts were made to contact the owner of Continental Apartments to see what will be done to help the tenants, but they have not called back.
