BBB warns about robo-call scam

The "Rachel Robo Call" is a scam. The "Rachel Robo Call" is a scam.
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Here's a warning about robo-calls that can be "robo-trouble" when it comes to your credit or debit card information.

A WAFF Facebook friend said she's received at least one call a day for months now from a company called "Card Holder Services" claiming they can get you a lower interest rate. It's a scam.

The Better Business Bureau said it's called a "Rachel Robo Call" that supposedly had already been shut down. Apparently not.

"A legitimate company isn't going to call and say they're going to lower your rates," said Michele Mason, President/CEO of the BBB of North Alabama. "They're not going to use recorded messages. And they shouldn't be asking you to give out so much information. You can ask questions, and more than likely, they'll hang up the phone."

The BBB President said the best thing to do is ask to speak with someone, get their number, tell them you'll call them back, and then call the BBB. Again, this one is definitely a scam.
