Man convicted of killing 2 A&M students denied rehearing

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The Alabama Supreme Court denied the rehearing of the case for a man convicted of killing two Alabama A&M students.

Wilbert Smith is serving life without parole at the Holman Prison in Escambia County. A jury convicted Smith of capital murder in Feb. 2013.

In 2008, he shot and killed BJ Peterson and Ronnie Pugh at a home on Hester Lane in Huntsville. Smith petitioned for the State Supreme Court to review his case. The court refused.
