HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

It seems like people believe money can't buy happiness, but it does go a long way.

CNN money researchers put out an interesting proposal. They asked people, if you could cut yourself a check for any amount of money, how much would you need to be happy? You'd expect to see some greed here, but most people said they'd settle for about $100,00, and most would be happy with far less.

Nearly a quarter of us said we'd be content with a much smaller amount, between $50,000 and nearly $75,000. One interesting twist, only six percent said they wouldn't take any money. CNN Money noted that these results were consistent with results of other studies that found that past a certain income level, money isn't enough.
