BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Bowling Green woman is being charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter after a man died from drugs she gave him.

Tricia Miller, 29, is accused of supplying heroin that led to Daniel Patton Jr.'s overdose on March 1. Patton's death was ruled accidental.

Bowling Green Police say this indictment is the beginning of a crackdown that law enforcement is implementing to turn the tide on the rising heroin problem in the area.

"In the past if there was an overdose sometimes the police department may not pursue that as a manslaughter case or a reckless homicide case but given the frequency of when we're seeing these cases. We're seeing injuries, we're seeing deaths, we're seeing trafficking so we want to try and address that, especially when we have a death involved," said Scott Keiber, BGPD detective.

Miller is scheduled to be arraigned June 13.
