SCOTTSBORO, AL (WAFF) -

Authorities in Marshall and Jackson Counties are actively searching for a man who went missing Wednesday afternoon.

They're currently searching the area near Waterfront Grocery off of Highway 79 near the county line for 51-year-old Troy Eugene Jens of Scottsboro.

Jens' family members are concerned about the man who they say suffers from depression.

Authorities said Jens was dropped off at the boat ramp near the store on Wednesday and when family members didn't hear back from him, they contacted Scottsboro Police early that night. He was last seen wearing tan shorts, a black t-shirt, and a ball cap.

Crews searched for him Wednesday night and resumed the search on Thursday morning.

"We do know he was there," said Chief Ralph Dawe. "We do have him on video. We got the video from the store and we're also doing some other things to locate him through his cell phone."

The search is active and is expected to last at least until nightfall.  Authorities with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Rescue Squad, Scottsboro Police, and Marshall County Sheriff's Department's Marine Division were part of the search.
