LINCOLN COUNTY, TN (WAFF) -

A tornado damaged school in Tennessee is on track to reopen in August, according to the Lincoln County superintendent.

South Lincoln Elementary school was heavily damaged in the April 28 tornado outbreak and students had to finish out the year at another school.

Lincoln County Superintendent Dr. Wanda Shelton said the system has ordered roofing, HVAC, bricks, door and other supplies to repair the structural damage to South Lincoln Elementary.

The system is working on furniture orders to refurnish the rooms that were considered a total loss.

"You will see crews working long days to have us ready to go on time," said Shelton.

She went on to say rain is the only thing that could hold up the repair schedule.
