DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Investigators with the Decatur Police Department will seek to have a shooting suspect's bond revoked.

Police say Jeffrey Williams shot Cortes Randolph in the chest on Saturday. Cortes is being treated at the hospital and it's unknown if he will make a full recovery. Williams was arrested for first degree assault and later released on bond.

Later in the week, police obtained a felony warrant for Williams, charging him with distribution of a controlled substance. They said Williams sold drugs during an undercover operation.

Officers arrested Williams following a traffic stop on Wednesday and took him into custody without incident.

His bond was set at $75,000 because of his criminal history and because of his recent arrest for first degree assault.

Thursday, investigators will seek to have Williams' bond revoked in order to keep him incarcerated.
