The Alabama Department of Transportation worker charged with trying to pick up a 14-year-old girl in his state issued truck was back in court in DeKalb County on Thursday.

Daniel Nixon has been out on bond since the incident in February. At his arraignment hearing, he pled not guilty to enticing a child for immoral purposes.

His attorneys asked to have his $30,000 bond lowered. Prosecutors said that amount is not excessive. The judge said he'd issue a ruling on the argument at a later date.

DeKalb County deputies said 31-year-old Nixon was posing as a teenage boy online and chatting with a 14-year-old-girl.

When that girl's parents became suspicious, deputies set up a sting, posing as the girl wanting to meet up.

They ended up arresting Nixon at a school and they allegedly found drugs and sex toys inside of the state issued ALDOT truck he was driving.
