Free cash to be hidden in Tuscumbia

TUSCUMBIA, AL (WAFF) -

A fad that started off in San Francisco and went worldwide in the last week has spread to the Shoals.

The localized version, called Hidden Cash Tuscumbia, provides clues leading people to free money.

Organizers of the program, contacted through Twitter and who wish to remain anonymous, said the idea came after they saw coverage of these cash drops in larger cities.

They said they want people to have fun with their families as they search for cash, and they hope those who discover the money use a small portion of it to pay it forward.

The first cash drop is set for this Saturday.
