TUSCUMBIA, AL (WAFF) -

A continuance was issued in the trial of a Harvest man accused of bringing a gun inside a courthouse.

Hildred Burwell II was arrested in March. Deputies said Burwell showed up late for his court hearing and hid a handgun in between papers.

Burwell II was charged with possession of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.

The District Attorney's office expects the case to be heard later this summer.

*The previous version of this story incorrectly identified the defendant at Hildred Burwell not Huldred Burwell II. Hildred Burwell, the father of Burwell II had no involvement in this incident.
