Storm-related unemployment aid deadline approaches

ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

Tuesday is the last day for Limestone County storm victims to register for disaster unemployment assistance.

If the April 28 tornado outbreak prohibited you from working, you may be eligible to get assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The deadline for applications for those who lived or worked in DeKalb and Etowah Counties is June 9.

24-hour application assistance is available online at labor.alabama.gov. You can also call toll-free, 1-866-234-5382, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
